ObjectiveRandomized controlled trials by the clinical observation of the clinical efficacy of simple electro-acupuncture therapy and acupoint catgut embedding therapy for treatment of lumbar disc herniation, looking for simple, effective and economic therapy for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation basis.MethodsFrom the Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, First Affiliated Hospital of Acupuncture outpatient meet the diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria for patients with lumbar disc herniation60cases,30cases were randomly divided into treatment group and control group (30cases). The two groups take the same acupuncture points. Lumbar herniated discs and the corresponding Jiaji (EX-B2) and Shenshu (BL23). Bladder the Meridian of Foot-Taiyang radiating pain with Yinmen (BL37), Chengshan (BL57); Gallbladder the Meridian of Foot-Shaoyang radiating pain with Fengshi (GB31) the Xuanzhong (GB39); Stomach the Meridian of Foot-Yangming radiating pain with Yinshi (ST33), Zusanli (ST36).The treatment group were treated with catgut embedding therapy, day treatment interval of7days each, a total of four weeks for a course. Control group with EA treatment, day treatment, three times a week, a total of four weeks for a course.ResultsA total of60patients participated in this experiment, two groups in age, gender, disease duration were not statistically different (P>0.05); two groups were comparable. Treatment group and control group for lumbar disc herniation has a significant effect. Treatment of8cases were cured,15cases markedly effective in6cases and1case, the markedly effective rate was76.7%, the total effective rate was96.7%; the control group,7cases recovered,22cases markedly effective in6cases and1case, the markedly effective rate was50.0%, the total effective rate was93.3%; two sets of effects were compared by statistical tests (p<0.05) difference was statistically significant. The efficacy of two groups after treatment had good efficacy in the treatment group than the control group.ConclusionCatgut implantation for lumbar disc herniation has a good short and long term efficacy. Embedding therapy and has less side effects, easy to operate, less invasive, less treatment, the great clinical value.
