With the rapid development of the modern technology, mobile robots play an increasingly important role in people's production and life, it has a wide application areas, They have irreplaceable role in some important areas, especially playing important role in search and rescue in China coal mine accidents in recent years.In the paper, we have accomplished the design of the embedded system that can collect and transport video and audio information in the mine of the searching robot. Using the data returned by the robot in a mine scene, the ground rescue personnel not only to understand the lives of persons underground accident scene, you can also view the collection of audio and video images back to guide the rescue work on the next step to make a specific rescue plan.This paper firstly describes the research background,searching robot in mine and embedded system, including its definition,characteristics and applications, the process of software development in embedded systems and then describes the architecture of an embedded hardware platform, software development platform on the host structures, including the operating system of choice, install the cross compiler tool chain, Qt/Embedded configuration, compile and install.The next part introduces the collection of audio and video and encoding and decoding. It uses the Codec Engine Development Kit in DVSDK for encoding and decoding, the specific algorithm and the realization in audio and video codec.Finally, we describe the realization of the video and audio collection and transmission in UDP protocol of TCP/IP protocols, and the data displayed in embedded graphical interface.
