With the advent of the Mobile Internet era, the research and development of embedded technology has become a hot topic in the current. Variety of new embedded devices including information appliances, hand-held terminals, and mobile phones and so on strides forward. The graphical user interface (GUI) as an important way of human-computer interaction, is using widely in embedded systems. Due to the improved hardware, it is possible to implement good GUI on embedded devices. At the same time, the development of high performance, high reliability of the GUI is also the current trend.Compared with other mainstream GUI such as Microwindows, MiniGUI, Qt/Embedded is less resource-intensive, high-performance, highly reliable, configurable, and can be cut. So this thesis focused on Qt/Embedded. It introduces the related theory firstly, including architecture and core technologies, system’s hardware platform, software platform and Qt/Embedded Linux system structures. And then, the thesis builds the Qt development platform on the local computer, including three versions, Qt/X11, QtE-X86and QtE-ARM, corresponding to the development, simulation and transplantation based on the knowledge above. Moreover, it introduces hardware features and software architecture of the client, as well, configuration of the related software and communication between host and client.This thesis implements a project which transplants the Qt/Embedded applications to the TQ2440board platform. The project realized the communication function between two targets, which includes the function of store message, filter content, and set information, black list, chatting and so on. And using Qt/Embedded design the convenient GUI interface, due to cut off the unnecessary functions, so efficiency of the system is greatly improved relative to other GUI solutions.
