Objectives:1,Our objective is to provide a relatively comprehensive information on the effectiveness of academic programs of regional collaborative medical services in Yunnan province, and to enrich the data of health professionals'continuing medical education in Yunnan province.2,We aimed to provide an objective evaluation data for carrying out researches related to continuing medical education in the new period of Yunnan province, and to provide a reference for exploring more effective directions on development of continuing medical education in the new period.3,At the same time, our goal is to increase the health professionals'awareness of continuing medical education, and to further elevate the development of the continuing medical education in Yunnan province, moreover, to promote the development of medicine and health services in Yunnan province.The main study courses:1, This study depends on the academic programs of regional collaborative medical services in Yunnan province, which is organized by the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, and combined with Bayer Healthcare Limited Company. In March to November2010, we have collected more than1,500copies of feedback forms. To analyze the697feedback forms, which is the part of those we collected filled by the health professionals who are from central Yunnan urban economic circle (consist of four areas:Kunming, Yuxi, Qujing, Chuxiong), we used the methods of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis.2, Using purposive sampling, we conducted a survey on health professionals, who is the participants of "Ultrasound real-time tissue elasticity imaging technology seminar", which is organized by the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University in April2011. We choose one part of all of the feedback forms we collected to analyze, which filled by the health professionals who works in the provincial medical institutions. We use the methods of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, too.3,From May2011to May2012, using purposive sampling and qualitative analysis, we have interviewed14health professionals, whose field is clinical medicine, nursing or management, from the First People's Hospital in Yuxi city, Medical Group in Dehong prefecture, People's Hospital in Shidian county of Baoshan city or People's Hospital in Yun county of Lincang city.The design of the feedback tabulations, interview questionnaires and interview outline, which are used in the researches of the subject, is referenced to the requirements and documentation about continuing medical education published by Ministry of Health, and based on the practical experience in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University. We arranged the information and data, and did the statistical analysis then ultimately educed the results and conclusions.Conclusion:1,Health professionals, who are from different levels of medical institutions, different hierarchical of titles, and different specialities, have differences in the needs of continuing medical education.2,Coupled with the rapid development of information technology, Network, which is a convenient, efficient, flexible, economic and lower time-costing medium, becomes an important form for health professionals participating in continuing medical education in the new period.3, In the new period the Continuing Medical Education is changing to the Continuing Professional Developing. It requires health professionals to rise from improving practice standards to improving the professional competence, which means to meet the needs of the positions, to meet the needs of their career development and the society.4,Currently, there are omissions in the management of continuing medical education credits. Some of the health professionals involved in continuing medical education only in order to obtain credits simply, diluted the original intentions of management of the credit system.Advices:1, To different health professionals, who are from different levels of medical institutions, different hierarchical of titles, and different specialities, the work on continuing medical education which we carry out should be more independent, sub-level, multi-form, more integrated and more standardized. The resources of network and technology should be used more efficiently. We should use different forms and a wide range of learning contents to meet the needs of health professionals.2,The relevant administrative departments should lead health professionals to view the continuing medical education credits correctly, and implement different levels of standard structure of the credits, and standardize the credits management.3,We should carry out the evaluation of health professionals' continuing medical education needs, to improve the autonomy of the object of the key stakeholders of continuing medical education, and to ensure the effectiveness and quality of continuing medical education, thereby, to improve the overall quality and professional level of health professionals, and to make the continuing medical education rise to the continuing professional development, finally, to promote the development of medical and health services in Yunnan province.
