Taiyuan Stroke Health Status Of Family Caregivers And Community Care Needs

Background Stroke is the most common neurological fetal disease.Among all kinds of diseases, Stroke èranking after heart disease andcancer, is currently the third leading cause of death. With theimprovement of medical treatment, the mortality of patients with strokedropped significantly, but3/4stroke survivors have different extentof disability, and above40%of them are badly injured; most of strokepatients accept caring at home. The survey showed that: about80%ofstroke patients after discharged from hospital get rehabilitationtherapy and nursing care from their family numbers, so the familycaregivers' health conditions and caring needs are getting moreattention from the public.Objective From the questionnaire of stoke patients and familycaregivers in Taiyuan, we could know the stroke patients familycaregivers' health conditions and the need for community service. Theproject made a description and analysis on the stroke patients familycaregivers' health conditions and the need for community nursing service,and determined the extent of stroke family caring service program,further more fingered out the influence factors.In order to provide somebases and reasonable Suggestions for the development of stroke caringwork in communities.Method Using the convenience sampling method, The project regardto Taiyuan è level three, of first-class hospital stroke patients andfamily caregivers of neurological department as the object.Using the general material research questionnaire and daily lifeactivity ability evaluation scale, This project investigated the strokepatient's general condition and self-caring ability; Using the SF-36scale and homemade community nursing service needing questionnaire toinvestigate the stroke family caregivers' health condition and therequirement for community caring service. We regarded stroke patientsand family caregivers in Taiyuan as the objects of study, and we got525Effective Responses.Results (1) The health condition of stroke family caregivers has different degrees of decline, and the mental health condition also hasa significantly decline;(2) The stroke family caregivers have highlyrequirement for community nursing and the highest requirement to socialsupport services.The highest3items are the rehabilitation trainingguidance on-site for patients, regular drop-in-visit service and regularphone consultation service;(3)The influence factors of the caregiverhealth condition and community caring needs are the level of pressure,family income, whether having the ability to provide quality caring, age,and the time of caring;(4) The stroke family caregivers' healthcondition has negatively correlation with community caring needs.Suggestions (1)The government should pay attention to thedisadvantaged group like stroke family caregivers;(2) Strengthening thedevelopment of community nursing, perfecting the community service,satisfying the need for caregivers to get nursing care;(3)Exploringand developing the social support service mechanism for stroke patientsfamily caregivers;(4) Assessing the health condition of caregiversregularly, and knowing the need for nursing care of the community.
