A Study On The Health Status And Influence Factors Of The Family Caregivers Of Elderly Patients With Chronic Disease

Objective:This study aims to investigate the health status of the family caregivers of elderly patients with chronic,analyzed the influence factors of the health status of family caregivers,explored the correlation among health status of family caregivers with daily life ability and loneliness of elderly Patients,to provide references for policy making.Methods:407 cases of elderly patients with chronic diseases and their family caregivers had been selected by stratified random cluster sampling method in Bengbu household from six communities.Research instruments included family caregiver part and elderly patients part:family caregiver part research instruments included general information and SF-36 scale,elderly patients part included general information,ADL Scale(Activities of Daily Living) and UCLA Scale.The data was disposed and analyzed with SPSS17.0,Statistic analysis methods included statistic descriptions,t test,variance analysis,step wise regression analysis and Pearson correlation analysis.Results:1. Family caregivers health status scored(66.14±17.50),PCS scored(70.06±16.49),MCS scored(62.22±18.51),the score of PF is the highest,followed by BP,SF,VT,MH,RP,GH and RE scores.2. The single factor analysis:the age of family caregivers,the relationship of family caregivers with patients,level of education,family income,whether suffering from chronic diseases,career status,time of take care of patients,average daily time for care of patients,the number of chronic diseases for elderly patients,the influence of family caregivers live and work by care activities,medical expenses and the pressure from care activities,all above are influence factors on the family caregivers health score difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3. Step wise regression analysis:family caregivers age,whether suffering from chronic diseases,average daily time for care of patients,the number of chronic diseases for elderly patients,the influence of family caregivers live and work by care activities,medical expenses and the pressure from care activities,all above are influence factors enter into the regression equation(P<0.05).4. Family caregivers SF-36 scores and elderly patients ADL scores are relevant(r=-0.271,P<0.01),family caregivers SF-36 scores and elderly patients UCLA scores are relevant(r=-0.248,P<0.01).Conclusion:1. The family caregivers SF-36 scores at lower levels, pay attention to the MCS of family caregivers,especially to raise RE scores.According to the problems of family caregivers.The government should give corresponding social support to meet the needs of family caregivers.2. The influencing factors included by family caregivers age,whether suffering from chronic diseases,average daily time for care of patients,the influence of family caregivers live and work by care activities,medical expenses and the pressure from care activities.Provide health archive information system family caregivers,community health care workers take health education lecture,family caregiver party and via the internet to intervene the health of family caregiver and to meet the needs of family caregivers.3. The higher ADL scores of elderly patients,the lower SF-36 scores of the family caregivers. Provide daily life support for elderly patients, enriched the contents of the community service,and reduce the pressure of family caregivers from care activities.4. The higher UCLA scores of elderly patients,the lower SF-36 scores of the family caregivers.Provide emotional and psychological support for elderly patients, reduce the psychological burden of family caregivers.
