We collected 146 blood sample of adult epileptic patients who were taking Phenobarbital (PB), phenytoin (PHT) or carbamazepine (CBZ), using reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) for determination plasma concentrations of antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). Univariate analysis and multiple regression analysis were used to determine factors affecting the quality of life in adult patients with epilepsy.Result Study found that gender, residence, age at onset, disease duration, seizure type, blood concentration and economic status were not affected quality of life in adult patients with epilepsy factors(p>0.05). Univariate analysis and multiple regression analysis showed that anxiety, depression, seizure frequency, occupation, education level, taking the number of antiepileptic drugs, marital status and age were the mainly risk factors for quality of life in adult patients with epilepsy(p<0.05). Among them, anxiety was negatively associated with scores on all aspects of quality of life and the total scores of adult patients with epilepsy; Depression was negatively associated with scores on seizure worry, life satisfaction, emotional health, cognitive function, the influence of drugs, social function and the total score; Seizure frequency was negatively associated with scores on life satisfaction, the influence of drugs, social function and the total score; Education level was positively associated with scores on life satisfaction and cognitive function of quality of life in adult patients with epilepsy and the influence of drugs scores was negatively correlated; Mental patients'scores were higher in life satisfaction, emotional health, energy / fatigue, social functioning and the total scores than the manual and unemployed patients'(p<0.05); Monotherapy patients'scores were higher in the influence of drugs than polytherapy; Unmarried patients'scores were higher in social function than the married and divorced patients(p<0.05).Conclusion⑴Gender, residence, age at onset, disease duration, seizure type, blood concentration and economic status were not affected quality of life in adult patients with epilepsy factors.⑵Anxiety, depression, seizure frequency, occupation, education level, taking the number of antiepileptic drugs and marital status were the mainly risk factors for quality of life in adult patients with epilepsy.⑶Adult patients with epilepsy exist diagnosis and treatment of non-standard in Ningxia region, such as the lack of monotherapy dose, low-dose combination of a variety of AEDs, or blindly taking the so-called "Chinese", etc, and standardized diagnosis and treatment of patients of quality of life were higher than the non-standard treatment of patients.
