The development of higher medical education is the foundation of the revitalization of medical service and health care. The local medical colleges shoulder the important task of training professional personnel for the local districts. To make great efforts to build a high-quality teaching faculty is to ensure the quality of the personnel training of medical colleges and it is also a necessary requirement for medical colleges if they want to accelerate the sustainable development of medical education and the colleges themselves.Guangxi is situated in the backward western regions. On the whole, the teaching faculty of medical schools is short in number currently and imperfect in its composition for teaching faculty with its academic leaders aging. It also faces various problems--the serious lack of backbone teachers and the brain drain of high-qualified talents. The Echelon formation of teachers is irrational and the team construction of clinical faculty is insufficient.The current construction of teaching faculty is facing great difficulties. Guangxi medical colleges shoulder the task of training professional personnel for the medical service which is important for the development of medical service and health care in Guangxi. Thus the establishment of a high-quality, appropriately-sized, reasonably structured teaching faculty with excellent skills and great dynamism of teachers is the key to the promotion of the rapid development of medical service and health care in Guangxi. Based on the data collection, statistics and analysis of the teaching faculty in Guangxi medical colleges, the article provides theoretical reference for the better and faster development of medical colleges in Guangxi.In October 2007, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance jointly distributed " guiding opinions for strengthening the national pharmaceutical undertakings " and stressed the need to support medical education in regions of minority areas as an important task for the development of national medical service and health care. The research subject mainly studies how the medical colleges in regions of minority in western China raise the level of medical education by improving the construction of teaching faculty. This subject also provides suggestions as references for the achievement of sustainable development of local medical colleges and the acceleration of the development of higher medical education in Guangxi and the optimization of the internal management and resources of medical colleges.The first part is the forward, which mainly introduced the research background, rationale, study methods of this paper, present research status of teaching faculty construction in domestic and foreign schools, as well as the theoretical and practical meaning of this paper.The second part, related concepts definition, through a variety of learning, Theoretical knowledge are building on some inspiration.The third part,Present status of teaching stuff construction in medical colleges in Guangxi, this is the foundation of this article. Through the data statistical analysis on teaching stuff construction of medical colleges in Guangxi, the author mastered the present status and standing problems, which made the basis of this paper research.Part Four, Analysis for the standing problems reasons of teaching stuff construction in medical colleges in Guangxi, which is the key part of this paper. Reasons may be analyzed by three levels as society school teachers. The main reasons as followed:lagging personnel reform, lagging development; instability of teachers, incomplete training system ,lack of training funds;unsientific evaluation and assessment systerm;big difficulties on attracting and stabilizing talents;uneffective motivation, teachers didn't get effective inspiration; insufficient caring on teachers' psychology problems; weak self-awareness of improving professional ability by teachers,etc.All these took the way for the further research of this paper.Part Five, which is the core of the article, is about the strategies for the construction and development of medical colleges in Guangxi.According to the existing problems and their causes, combined with advanced experience and the reality of medical colleges, the article provides strategies for the construction and development of teaching faculty of Guangxi medical colleges from three aspects---society, schools and teachers. First, the government should expand commitment to the education of local medical colleges and create overall environment for the construction of teaching faculty. Secondly, the colleges should further the structural reform and implement the plan for the construction and development of their teaching faculty as well as the measures for the construction.It is important to enhance the construction of the teaching faculty of the clinical teaching base. Meanwhile the teachers need to strive to enhance their occupational abilities.
