Western Hunan Province News Information Survey Report

This paper take a journalism review of Xiangxi Tujia&Miao Nationalities Municipality, which locates in the west of Hunan Province. Based on many times of field investigation on the spot, the author researched the actuality of journalism in this location.The paper includes 4 chapters. The first chapter gives an overview of what to research, the problems met in the investigation, and explains why the author choose the location of Xiangxi as well.The journalism quality and quantity is related in all the natural and social environment about information spreading, so the 2nd chapter mainly states how this relationship works. To explain it more clearly, the factors of tow aspects had been investigated, which as below:The factors of environment: includes natural environment, population,nationalities distributing, individual income and education;The factors of journalism: local newspapers, TV program, network and othermedias.The 3nd chapter is the most important part of this paper. The author first investigates the media used to communicate the news info, for which take newspaper, television and network in county/town/village as examples. Meanwhile, the investigation also includes the special policy by which the local government compensate the journalism organizations and the difference caused by the unbalancing of information spreading. All the investigation finally helps to get the outline of how information communicate between downtown and countryside. Based on this outline, the author gives several pieces of advice to set up a expedite channel for information communication and to improve the information spreading. Then the author uses another analysis method—media content analysis to analyze the content of local television and newspaper and get the detail of journalism development in Xiangxi Municipality. Finally, the author introduces a humanism research method—nationality biography into the paper and, by the mean of 'detail statement', explain how the news information spread in local area.The 4th chapter mainly discusses the relationship between information spreading and nationality culture.
