Conditional Access System (CAS) is a major part of DVB system. With the help of CAS, provider can earn more and more profile through the service they provide. Therefore, the first part of this paper focuses on DVB CAS. It discusses the principle and framework of CAS, SimulCrypt and MultiCrypt Standard by DVB , and the algorithm used by scrambling and encrypting. As a major goal, this paper folly depicts the design of CAS in Set-Top Box chip MPEG-SoC, which includes both hardware and software design.The second part of the paper mainly deals with hardware/software co-verification. Firstly, the classification of hardware/software co-verification platform is presented. And each type of platform is discussed in detail. Then, we discuss the verification platform design of MPEG-SoC. In verification process, various methods including module-level verification, hardware/software co-simulation and FPGA prototype are used to ensure MPEG-SoC design errorless. Finally, various methords used in MPEG-SoC verification are given to improve efficiency.
