Electric Acupuncture Treatment Of Simple Obesity Spleen Damp Clinical Research

As the living standard of people has improved step by step, obesity has become a global issue in public health and affects the living quality of obese patients a lot. Acupuncture with the advantages such as cheapness, easy to perform, apparent therapeutic effects, less side effects, is regarded as a green therapy. In recent years, applying acupuncture, and other therapies to treat obesity have obtained good therapeutic effects at home, and it won concern of experts abroad gradually. But it can be seen that applying acupuncture to treat obesity still limits on the traditional methods of acupuncture. Warm acupuncture is less reported, while Electro-thermal Acupuncture (ETA), Thermal Acupuncture (TA), the heat under the needle are rarely applied to treat obesity caused by spleen deficiency and dampness stagnation.The study obtained good therapeutic effects, through observing 60 cases of obesity caused by spleen deficiency and dampness stagnation by Electro-thermal Acupuncture (ETA) treatment, which is an innovation in treating obesity by acupuncture. The content of the study is as follows. Objective:To discuss on the therapeutic effect of treating Simple Obesity caused by spleen deficiency and dampness stagnation by Warming yang methods, based on Electro-thermal Acupuncture(ETA) . Methods:1 The diagnosis standard of obesity is Asian Weight Index Standard proposed by WHO in 2002．2 Treatment MethodsThe 30 cases in the treatment group are applied Electro-thermal Acupuncture (ETA) and assisted with filform needles. ETA was applied at Sānyīnjiāo (三阴交SP6) , Tiānshū(天枢ST25) , Fēnglóng (丰隆ST40) (bilateral); filform needles are applied at other acupoints. The 30cases in the control group are needling by fiform needles. Except that the selection of acupoints, manipulation are the same of the two groups. One treatment is applied per day, 10 days being a course. Two courses later, observe the general therapeutic effect.3 Therapeutic effect evaluationTo observe the main symptoms, improvement of body of the two groups after treatment. To evaluate through recording the changes of weight, chest, wrist, arm, bottom, breath of thethigh, BMI and experimental index (blood sugar before eating, general CHO, TG,LDH,HDH) before and after treatment by giving points.Result: the total effective rate of the ETA group and the control is 90% and 73%respectively. The changes of weight, chest, wrist, arm, bottom, breath of the thigh of the ETAgroup has statistical significance.Conclusion:ETA is the combination of Acumoxology and Physical Medicine, which has the doublefunctions of warm moxibustion and acupuncture, and has the following advantages, stablereaction and easy to regulate. The study of treating obesity caused by spleen deficiency anddampness stagnation with good therapeutic effect will promote the study of mechanism oftreating simple obesity caused by spleen deficiency and dampness stagnation and the clinicalapplication.
