Virtual instrumentation uses mainstream computer technologies combined with innovative, flexible software and modular, high-performance hardware technologies to create a powerful computer-based instrument. In this article, the technology of visual instrument is introduced through comparing the visual instrument with the normal one. the programming language of Lab Windows/CVI is briefly introduced ,too.As an important part of China Experiment Fast Reactor (CEFR), the washing system of spent fuel assembly ensures that the running of fast reactor is safety and the data of experiment is correct. The washing system of spent fuel assembly is introduced in detail, by describing the flow and traits of the washing system, a monitor system of the washing system based on modeling is formed, combined with the technology of virtual instrument.In this system the ADAM-5000 series product is used as the sensor and controller, the system is designed with the software of Lab Windows / CVI. The design of the monitor system is analyzed in detail, focusing on the functions of the monitor system and how to realize the functions.The monitor system ,which use the technology of virtual instrumentation ,controls all the procedure of assemble washing, plots the real time process of assemble washing on the screen , and gather the real time data to plot, store, analyse, at the same time, The monitor system manager the level of user which use this system, deal with all kinds of data, such as temperature, pressure, flux, radioactivity and state of switch, form the trendline of temperature.
