| Rheology instrument is a type of blood's clinical test instrument based on hemorheology theory. It is a special instrument which is used to diagnose disease by measuring blood viscosity. In this paper, a new generation pressure sensor type rheology instrument is researched; and the design principles of both hardware and software are described in detail. The main contents are as follows:1. The measure principle of rheology instrument. With correlative theory of hemorheology, various parameters'algorithms about hemodynamics are acquired.2. The total design of system. Based on hemorheology theory, a suit of airtight pipeline system is designed, which is used to measure apparent viscosity with different shear rates. In the measurement, the sample flows slowly in the pipeline, and the pressure in the pipeline will change with the time, the sample's apparent viscosities with different shear rates can be acquired.3. The design of hardware system. It mainly includes signal collection circuit and stepped motor control circuit. The signal collection circuit is used to magnify the signal collected by pressure sensor and send it to A/D card. The stepped motor control circuit is used to drive the automatic servo system to complete continuous test of samples.4. The design of software system. It mainly includes control program of stepped motor and application program. The usage of stepped motor's control program is to distribute pulse and control rotate speed of motor. The application program is used to provide a platform for the doctors to examine patients'blood viscosity for meeting the demand of clinical test. The application program mainly includes these models as follows: data processing, results analysis, data management and so on. By collecting patients'data, analyzing and comparing to normal value, the conclusion can be acquired, diagnose opinion and therapy scheme will be put forward.5. Data analysis of measurement.
