Due to its convenient, intuitive, real-time advantages video capture system is widely used in many fields, such as transportation, water, security and so on and has become the focus of attention. At present, with the arrival of the digital and network age of video surveillance, in particular, embedded wireless video intelligent acquisition system becomes the industry hot for its portability, small size, low power consumption, easy installation and intelligent and so.Based on the current condition of the collection terminal of video surveillance system status, a system of dual-mode network video server is designed with the DM6437 processor. Through this system we can capture live video images, carry out a real-time H.264 compression and convert into video stream to send to the monitoring center or hand-held terminal through WiFi and WiMAX network. At the same time, monitoring center or handheld terminal devices can carry out local storage of video images via a wireless network or remote control of collection terminal and data storage through a network, but also can adjust PTZ, and then carry out selection of monitoring site far in the distant.The Main research content of this article is included as:1. Based on TI's DaVinci technology and SEED-DEC6437 development platform, functions and applications of TMS320DM6437 processor are researched. According to requirements of the subject, the system of dual-mode network video server is designed.2. This system integrates audio and video acquisition, processing with wireless transmission functions of WiFi or WiMAX. It is an intelligent video server terminal. It can automatically identify PAL or NTSC camera.3. The PCI bus of TMS320DM6437 is extended to meet the requirements of the current WiFi or WiMAX module interface when the system is designed.4. We use Altium Designer to draw the schematic and the PCB diagram of the system, and summarize and conclude technical problems of system design to lay the foundation for follow-up research.
