Design And Realization Of Tobacco Retail Information Terminal Based On ARM-Linux

Based on the project of tobacco marketing management system, the tobacco retail information terminal is designed according to the demands of State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau for promoting tobacco industry modernization construction with informatization. By the terminal, tobacco retailers could complete the whole process of tobacco retail, even order forecast and order confirm. Moreover, the terminal applies services of downloading and browsing kinds of tobacco commodity information, ordering, checking historical sales records, browsing kinds of notice and advertisement, and interaction with the tobacco company.Firstly, this paper analyzes the research background of the subject and the current status of tobacco retail information terminal at home and abroad. An overall structure of tobacco marketing management system based on ARM-Linux, GPRS wireless network is presented; Secondly, the overall design scheme based on ARM9 hardware platform is constructed according to the demand of tobacco retail information terminal; Microprocessor S3C2440A and key peripheral modules are introduced and the interface circuits are designed and the software platform based on embedded Linux is successfully ported to hardware platform; Thirdly, an intensive study of development method of character device driver based on platform driver introduced by Linux2.6 is made, with the comprehensive analysis of communication protocol of Hanwang handwriting chip HW006, touch screen device driver that can recognize clicking and handwriting of touch screen is developed. Finally, after the research of serial programming in Linux, the program of GPRS module data communication based on Huawei GTM900B and the development of bar code scanner program are finished. Besides, implementation method of multi-threaded programming in the network data transmission is studied. Database and graphical interface of requirements of the tobacco retail information terminal are designed.The tobacco retail information terminal has been successfully applied to all tobacco retailers in some city of Shanxi Province. The running results show that the terminal is working stably, the interaction with the users is fast and convenient, and also the data collected can be timely, effectively, and accurately transferred to the application management system. The performance of all issue has reached the requirements of the project, and it could be an effective way of tobacco market forecasting, goods distribution and marketing promotion.
