As the development of new type electrical train, the train has high quality requirements to the performance of train communication networks. And until now time, the development of train communication networks of our Country is on the perid of products import and absorption, the development's cost is too expensive.As the speciality of train network environment, it requires the networks of different carriages have to be isolated. But when there are datas to be transported, high quality requirements to the performance of train communication networks will be needed. This asks for new demands of network topology and data transmission. So, in this paper, after we introducing the development of the domestic and international train communication network, we adopt LonWorks technology of the international standard IEEE 1473-1999 to train communication network applications for research and development. We design an intelligent communication node which can be applicated to train communication network. As the special unique of train networks, we design a two layers structure of the train communication network, and a proxy node to achieve the communication between the train level and the vehicle level. On this basis, a Train Communication Network experimental platform is designed and establish based on LonWorks network technology. The network includes the train bus and the vehicle bus as the two layers bus structure, the temperature is monitoring item, with intelligent communication node as the monitoring nodes and with the proxy node managing the vehicle bus and the intelligent chief managing node managing the whole train, thus constituting a train monitoring network experimental platform. Then we go on with the relevant communication experiments and basically achieved the designing purpose.By designing and experimenting of the intelligent nodes and experimental platform for the Train Communication Network, we lay a theoretical and experimental basis for the further development and real vehicle application for the train communication network.
