LonWorks technology was first developed by Echelon corporation in December. 1990 and it is one type of Field Bus. LonWorks technology is a complete platform for implementing control network systems. These networks consist of intelligent devices or nodes that interact with their environment, and communicate with one another over a variety of communications media using a common, message-based control protocol. It is meaningful to do researches in the LonWorks technology.The three major parts of LonWoks are discussed in this paper: the structure of the hardware, the composing of the software and the tools of development. This high and new technical platform is used to research,develop and innovate independently. Essential equipments,device,software and development tools are purchased, and a high level science and technology creative platform is built successfully which combines mechanism, electricity, automation, communication and computer control organically. It forms the practical intelligent measurement and control system matching the situation of our country. It can integrated modem electromechanical transmission measurement and control equipments and it can configure, monitor, control and manage by field bus and network from all over the world, so it is a true modern intelligent distributed control system, and it develops a new era of electromechanical integration, and it is the development direction and application trend of modern electromechanical transmission control.The design and implementation of the system is overall described in this paper in detail. There are 6 chapters in the paper, from the basic field bus concept to the design of the whole system. The design of the system's hardware and software is discussed in detail. The hardware design part introduces the hardware circuit design of the intelligent node and measurement and control system in detail. The software design part includes two parts: one is the software design of the intelligent node which is used to finish itself function, the other part is to make up a network by means of LonMaker For Windows, and useing iLonVision Contribute3 to make monitoring pages, system network control is realized and some systems of industry control and BAS(Building Automation System) is simulated.
