Talk show programs are mushrooming in the major medias of our country because of its low production cost, easy communication, active and relaxed atmosphere and easy organizing. The host's language usually guide the program in the right order. In the talk show program, the host's language observing to the politeness principle is the essential condition that make the program go smoothly. There have been the typical incident that the honoured guests withdrew before the program ended. So this article take the literature and audio and video material of the host's language in the following programs: 《The life of Art》, 《Tell it like it is》,《Dialogue》, 《Meet in the sunset》, 《Super interview》, 《Interviews by Lu Yu》, 《Interviews by Zhang Yue》 and 《The pasttime》 as examples to illustrate that politeness principle will restrain host's talking in the talk show program through the analysis on the artsof starting conversation, continuing the conversation, listening to the conversation, figure of speech and body language.
