With the progress of society and the development of science and technology, traditional expression way and transmission means of information can't meet people's demands. People are no longer satisfied with the simple speech signal and transmission of the characters data, But expect that uses many kinds of expression media. That multimedia transmits over network is focused in the field of multimedia research at present.The dissertation introduces digital video compression and digital video network transmission in detail, the on time question that the multimedia is transmitted is analyzed, then discuss in reducing the method to delay time, and bring forward solution of improving on time network.The dissertation explains the designing philosophy and implementation method of systematic hardware platform, the peripheral circuit of the processor and the circuit of multimedia sampling, multimedia transmits module are analyzed. A software driver development of RTL8139 chip for the TM1300 multimedia DSP under the pSOS embedded operating system is introduced. NI interface of pNA+ network component, control mode of receive data, transmit buffer manage of driver, call on PCI room approach of TM1300 and memory and data buffer consistent are described in detail. Ethernet communication interface is tested from speed, reliability and efficiency, satisfying test result is given in the end.Finally, the dissertation summarizes the system and introduces the prospect of the system in the future.
