Embedded GUI Application Platform Design Based On ARM MPU And RTOS

With the development of Internet and the arrival of Post-PC times, the application of embedded system becomes popular. Now embedded technology has been the focal point of research. Embedded products have possessed great proportion in IT field.The kernel of Hardware of embedded system is embedded microprocessor, ARM(Advanced RISC Machines) processor is a kind of advanced 32-bit embedded RISC(Reduced Instruction Set Computer) microprocessor, which is in the lead accredited in this field, and occupied in the field of embedded system application of low consumption, low cost and high performance. The embedded technology based on ARM has become a light point of current embedded field. The key of a successful embedded system is with an excellent embedded operation system. uC/OS-II is a new embedded operation system that has several outstanding strongpoints such as free source code, oriented small or middle scale application, preemptive kernel, multitask and preferable portability. It has been used in all kinds of embedded systems.Recent years, embedded technology develops rapidly, and its applications depend on HMI more and more. Friendly graphics HMI provides abundant graphics and image information and intuitionistic communication means for embedded system. Embedded GUI as the software system of HMI, it has some characteristics of terseness, beauty, convenience and humanity. The HMI designed with embedded GUI increases development efficiency, lowers maintenance cost and enriches HMI information. uC/GUI is an embedded GUI software, which both can implement rapidly development application program and can save embedded system resources. User can design own graphics HMI with uC/GUI expediently, and complete all kinds of application programs.This paper assumes a development project about the application platform of embedded GUI based on ARM MPU and embedded RTOS(Real-time Operation System). The design and debugging of the Hardware circuit based on ARM MPUhas been completed, and the design and application of Software platform has been implemented, including the program of Boot Loader, the portability of uC/OS-II, the program of UART communication, the application of uC/GUI and so on.Both the embedded GUI application platform can be suitable for users' needs about real-time and rapidly dealing with data, and can provide lively and intuitionistic graphics HMI for users. So it can be widely used in the field of scale and controlling system, which needs the function of real-time and well Human Machine Interaction.
