Sociocultural Analysis On Television Talk Show "Telling The Truth

The representational column " Telling the Truth" of " Television Talk Show" has got comparatively high audience rate and has been recognized by news theorists. The purposes of this study are to investigate the rules of news communication and demonstrate its theoretical standard through sufficient practices.This study analyzed the fundamental materials of the program of " Telling the Truth", which has been shown in the past 6 years, deriving the principal theories and research achievements from relevant subjects such as Communication, Semeiology, Psychology, Sociology, Behavioral Science and so on, taking concepts as the media, applying methods of judgment and reasoning and summarized and abstracted external phenomenon. The study also focused on overall, scientific and systematic analysis on the column's social and cultural pattern, style, nature, property and etc.Firstly, the study indicated that now the television culture was an essential and most important way of demonstration in mass culture. However, the column " Telling the Truth" became so outstanding among domestic television talk shows, which actually not only owing to its unique expressive way, but also the wise combination of positioning of the program, topic, guests, host and ranges of factors. Its orientation was " Popular type" that undertook the potential " humanism spirits"; the topics and conversations were quite close and familiar to ordinary people and their lives, hence complied with its " Popular type" positioning and reflected deep social and cultural connotation.Secondly, the study indicated that the basis of role orientation was the taste and quality of society and culture of the host-Cui Yong Yuan. He had his own outstanding facets in terms of cultural responsibility, language technique, popular image and etc. in his role orientation.Thirdly, the study showed the interactions of language symbols and non-language symbols, which further enriched the social and cultural connotations of the program.Finally, the study put that the column has made a profound and significant socioculural effects in the aspects of setting up the socioculural style, meeting the sociocutural demands of the masses as well as catalyzing the progress of socialization of the masses.
