Research On Weber's Charisma Theory

In order to avoid historicism and positivism respective one-sided malpractice, Weber had surmounted them together, and had a significant breakthrough in the method and the theory. This paper discusses the Charisma theoretically, and summarizes its three characteristics: holiness, transcendence and reflexivity. The Charisma and the rationalization constitute, in the progress of human being, the different kind of religion, the control and the law. They depend on and react against each other; they drive the human forward and also shape the models of Weber's difficult position.The charming inheritance of Weber's theory aroused posterior interest extremely, from Parsons, Luman to Bourdieu, all of them conduct the thorough research to this question. They have a lot of significant and worthy research, and attempt to resolve the paradox existed between Charisma and rationalization, to get out Weber's difficult position, but fail at last. The paradox between Charisma and rationalization is constitutive and unable to eliminate, but is a eternal one. For this reason, the development of human always tangles with Charisma and rationalization, and cannot get rid of any side throughout. Therefore, the discussion of Charisma and rationalization will become the eternal subject in the history of human.
