Purpose:Through investigation methods of clinic epidemiology to explor the rule of the distribution of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndromes of Chronic Superficial Gastritis (CSG),and the relationships between CSG with Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection and CSG pathological grading, finally in order to master the epidemiological characteristics of CSG and to guide the clinic diagnosis and treatment.Objects and methods:730 cases of Outpatients who have been diagnosed as CSG by electronic gastroscopy and pathological examination recently were selected as the research subjects, and their TCM syndromes were diagnosed according to the authoritative diagnostic criterion, the complex syndromes were diagnosed according to the actual performance syndromes.Their clinical symptoms, the images of tongue and pulse, HP test results, histological grade and other relating information were collected and filled in a form, then the data were dealed with statistical analysis.Results:1. In the 730 cases, the frequency of occurrence of the independent syndromes (including complex syndromes) were as following:the deficiency of spleen and stomach syndrome being 560 times (42.7%), the disharmony between the liver and stomach syndrome being 373 times (28.4%), the damp-heat in the spleen and stomach syndrome being 200 times (15.3%), the blood stagnation in stomach syndrome being178 times (13.6%).2. The highest frequency of actual occurrence of the syndromes were the deficiency of spleen and stomach syndrome and the disharmony between the liver and stomach syndrome, a total of 219 cases (30%).3. All observation cases with HP-positive was 195 cases, of which the highest frequency were the damp-heat in the spleen and stomach syndrome being 96 times (48.0%) and the deficiency of spleen and stomach syndrome being 61 times (28.8%).4. The highest frequency of syndromes in order of light, moderate and severe degree of Pathological grading were as following:he deficiency of spleen and stomach syndrome being 174 times (31.1%), and the disharmony between the liver and stomach syndrome being 189 times (50.7%), the damp-heat in the spleen and stomach syndrome being 112 times (56.0%).5. The mainly syndromes of Female were the disharmony between the liver and stomach syndrome being 236 times (63.3%) and the deficiency of spleen and stomach syndrome being 319 times (57.0%), the mainly syndromes of male were the damp-heat in the spleen and stomach syndrome being151 times (75.5%) and the blood stagnation in stomach syndrome being 102 times (57.3%).6. The Age of onset of thisdisease were mainly youth, among 18-40 years old being a total of 508 cases (69.6%),.Conclusion:1. The most common syndrome of CSG was the deficiency of spleen and stomach syndrome, it showed that we should pay more attention to strengthening the spleen when we treating CSG.2. The most closely relationship between the syndromes of CSG and HP infection were the damp-heat in the spleen and stomach syndrome and the deficiency of spleen and stomach syndrome, it showed that we should pay more attention to strengthening the spleen and clearing away heat and eliminating dampness when we treating CSG with HP infection3. The most closely relationship between the syndromes of CSG and Pathological grading in order of light, moderate and severe degree were the deficiency of spleen and stomach syndrom, the disharmony between the liver and stomach syndrome, the damp-heat in the spleen and stomach syndrome,it showed that we should pay more attention to strengthening the spleen when we treating mild CSG,and focus on harmonizing the liver and stomach when we treating moderate CSQand pay more attention to clearing heat and eliminating dampness when we treating severe CSG.4. The mainly syndromes of Female was the disharmony between the liver and stomach syndrome and the deficiency of spleen and stomach syndrome, the mainly syndromes of male were the damp-heat in the spleen and stomach syndrome and the blood stagnation in stomach syndrome.lt indicated that s we should pay more attention to harmonizing the liver and stomach and strengthening the spleen when we treating CSG patients of female, and we should clear heat and eliminate dampness and activate blood circulation to remove stasis when we treating CSG patients of male.5. The Age of onset of thisdisease were mainly youth, which showed that, in preventing and treating CSG, we should focus on early prevention, especially prevent this disease from youth.
