Objectives:The psychological interventions which were taken to cope with the lack of confidence and having negative emotions among drug abuses could improve the psychological status, strengthen the confidence of detoxification and alleviate their negative emotions, thus come to the aim of improve the efficiency of detoxification and prevent relapse after detoxification. The psychological intervention measures were explored to aim directly at solving the problems which are lack of confidence and having serious negative emotions among drug-addicts and to provide scientific evidence for detoxification center to improve the efficiency of detoxification and prevent relapse after detoxification. Methods:We selected the members in Wuhan detoxification rehabilitation center based on the cluster sampling and the freewill principle. Then the subjects were divided into intervention and control group randomly. We mainly adopted the styles of psychological lectures, carrying out mental activities, watching the video and so on to implement the psychological intervention measures in intervention group. The contents of intervention included 6 aspects as below: create harmony in order to prevent relapse, psychological adjustment, raise self-awareness, enhance the confidence of detoxification, control sensitive and prevent relapse, prevent AIDS. Every aspect took half a day. We managed, educated and trained the clients of control group only following the plans made by drug rehabilitation center, giving no psychological interventions. We adopted psychological scales and self-made questionnaire to investigate and collect data. The data were inputted by EpiData and analyzed by SPSS12.0.Results:A total of 410 research subjects, of whom 198 belonged to intervention group, the others were control group, the average age of the total was 36.25±7.48 years; The demographic characteristics of the subjects including gender, age, education, the marriage, the occupation among the intervention group and the control group had no significant difference (P>0.05). Before intervention, the scores in every dimension of confidence and total confidence between intervention and control group had no significant difference (P>0.05).After the intervention, the scores in every dimension of confidence and the overall confidence between intervention and control group had significant difference (P<0.05), the scores of various dimension of confidence in intervention group were higher than those of the control. In intervention group, the confidence scores of all dimensions and overall confidence situation before and after intervention had significant difference (P<0.05), the confidence scores of various dimension after intervention was higher than before intervention (P<0.05). Before intervention there were significant differences in the two dimensions including tension—anxiety and anger—hostility between intervention and control group (P<0.05), but in the other four dimensions there were no significant differences between intervention and control group(P>0.05), the difference of total emotional state between intervention and control group was not significant by multivariate analysis of variance (P>0.05). After the intervention, the scores in every dimension of emotions and the overall emotions situation between the intervention group and the control group had significant difference (P<0.05), the scores of the five dimensions of negative emotion of the intervention group were lower than those of the control group, and the score of the positive dimension of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group. There were significant differences in the two dimensions including depression—dejection and energy—vitality between before and after intervention (P<0.05), the score of depression—dejection of after intervention was lower than before intervention, the score of energy—vitality of after intervention was higher than before intervention, but in the other four dimensions there were no significant differences between before and after intervention (P>0.05), there were significant differences in overall emotional state between before and after intervention by multivariate analysis of variance (P<0.05). Canonical correlation was adopted to analyze respectively the relationship between confidence and emotion before and after intervention , respectively. The result was that negative emotions was negatively correlated with confidence. Conclusions:The negative emotion of the subjects was negatively correlated with their confidence, that is, the more serious negative emotions, the less confidence in quitting drug-abuse. The psychological intervention measures could improve psychological state of drug-abusers,improve their confidence and ease their negative emotions, thereby improve the efficiency of detoxification and prevent relapse. The scientific evidence can be given to explore and set up relapse prevention model through this study.
