Objective: To observe and investigate the effect of treating lower extremity arterial disease in patients of type 2 diabetes( LEADDP) with modified buyang huanwu decoction. Methods: 60 cases of LEADDP Belong to Qi and Yang deficiency were randomly divided into two groups, the treatment group and the control group. Patients of the control group were given the basic treatment: including the control of diet, moderate exercise, taking hypoglycemic drugs or insulin therapy, taking atorvastatin 10mg daily, enteric-coated tablets of aspirin100mg,daily.on this basis, the treatment group take modified buyang huanwu decoction for 2 months. We mainly observe the changes of clinical TCM syndrome score and level of PAgT,ET-1 , FBG, and HbAlc, TG, TC, LDL-c before and after treatment. Results: After observation, the syndrome score of treatment group was significantly lower than the control group. (P<0.01orP<0.05); In terms of reducing PAgT,ET-1 was significantly better than the control group (P <0.01). In lowering the blood FBG, and HbAlc, TG, TC, LDL - c aspects ,the two groups have no significant difference. Conclusions: The clinical observation shows that buyang huanwu decoction improves LEADDP with clinical symptoms, reducing PAgT and can reduce the inflammatory response. This study shows the modified buyang huanwu decoction has a good therapeutic effect in type 2 diabetic patients with lower extremity arterial disease. in lowering the blood glucose, blood lipid levels, compared with the control group, have no obvious advantage.
