Objective1,To discuss the clinical effects of manual massage combined with emotional nursing on neurological function for stroke patients in recovery stage.2,To discuss the clinical effects of manual massage combined with emotional nursing on motor function of limbs for stroke patients in recovery stage.3,To discuss the clinical effects of manual massage combined with emotional nursing on activities of daily life for stroke patients in recovery stage.4,To discuss the clinical effects of manual massage combined with emotional nursing on quality of life for stroke patients in recovery stage.5,To discuss the clinical effects of manual massage combined with emotional nursing on psychology of anxiety and depression for stroke patients in recovery stage.6,To discuss the clinical effects of manual massage combined with emotional nursing on muscle strength and secondary complications for stroke patients in recovery stage.7,To discuss the therapeutic mechanism of manual massage combined with emotional care for stroke patients in recovery stage.MethodsAdopting experimental methods of random and control for this research, total of 166 stroke patients in recovery stage who meeting the inclusion criteria were selected in the acupuncture rehabilitation ward and neurology of affiliated hospital of Chengdu University of TCM from January 2009 to December 2010. the subjects were divided into experimental and control groups randomly, rehabilitation group included 87 cases and control group included 79 cases.Interventions:patients of the two groups were treated according to the conventional neurological treatment and rehabilitation care, The control group were provided nursing as in routine, which was established by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2006. The test group:part of rehabilitation nursing included manual massage combined with emotional intervention and other care were same with the control group.Information collection:information were collected by specially trained group members, effect indicators were evaluated first into the group and after one month of nursing interventions. (1) general information:including name, gender, age, occupation, marital status, education level, diagnostic type, type of lesions, paralysis of limbs, etc. (2) effective indicators:CNS,FMA,BI,SF—36,muscle strength, anxiety and depression, the incidence of secondary complications of two groups were compared.Statistical analysis all data have been made statistical analysis with SPSS 16.0Results1,Baseline data:there were no significant differences statistically of two groups in the aspect of age, gender, diagnostic type, lesions, paralysis of limbs, etc (P>0.05) there were no significant differences statistically of two groups in the aspect of CNS,FMA,BI,SF—36,muscle strength, anxiety and depression, the incidence of secondary complications before nursing intervention (P>0.05). baseline data were consistent and comparable.2,Comparison of CNS:after the intervention, the differences of CNS between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). neurological deficit situation in the experimental group improved better than that of control group after the intervention.3,Comparison of FMA:after the intervention, the differences of FMA between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). motor function of limbs in the experimental group improved better than that of control group after the intervention.4,Comparison of BI:after the intervention, the differences of BI between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). avtivities of daily life in the experimental group improved better than that of control group after the intervention.5,Comparison of each dimension of SF-36:there were no significant differences statistically (P>0.05) in the dimension of bodily pain(BP) between the two groups after nursing interventions. In the dimension of physical functioning (PF), role-physical (RP), role-emotional (RE), vitality(VT),social functioning(SF), mental health (MH),general health (GH), there were significant differences statistically between 2 groups (P<0.05) ,rehabilitation group were better than that in control group. The dimension points of quality of life (except for "physical pain") in the experimental group increased better than that of control group after the intervention.6,Comparison of HAMA and HAMD:after the intervention, the differences of HAMA and HAMD between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). the improvement of psychological state of anxiety and depression in the experimental group were better than that of control group after the intervention.7,Strength assessment:after the intervention, the differences of muscle strength between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). muscle strength in the experimental group improved better than that of control group after the intervention.8,Comparison of secondary complications:After nursing interventions, there were no significant differences statistically (P>0.05) in the aspect of foot drop, foot inversion and joint contractures. there were significant differences statistically (P<0.05) between the two groups in the aspect of shoulder subluxation and shoulder-hand syndrome. which showing that manual massage combined with emotional care can decrease the incidence of shoulder subluxation and shoulder-hand syndrome, test group was better than control group.Conclusions1,manual massage combined with emotional nursing can improve the neurological deficit situation of stroke patients in the in recovery stage, efficacy of the test group is better than that of the control group.2,manual massage combined with emotional nursing can improve the motor function of limbs of stroke patients in the in recovery stage, particularly the physiological function of upper and lower paralyzed limbs, efficacy of the test group is better than that of the control group(routine nursing which was established by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2006). 3,manual massage combined with emotional nursing can improve activities of daily life, efficacy of the test group is better than that of the control group.4,manual massage combined with emotional nursing can promote physical health, mental health, emotiona and capacity to interact with people for stroke patients in the in recovery stage, quality of life improved significantly, efficacy of the test group is better than that of the control group.5,manual massage combined with emotional nursing can improve psychological state of anxiety and depression significantly, then improve psychological rehabilitation, efficacy of the test group is better than that of the control group.6,manual massage combined with emotional nursing can improve muscle strength significantly, and also can decrease the incidence of shoulder subluxation and shoulder-hand syndrome, efficacy of the test group is better than that of the control group.
