ObjectiveTo describe multicultural nursing cognitive status quo of the nursing staff, analysis the influencing factors, in order to provide theoretical basis for multicultural nursing education and nursing management.MethodUsing the random sampling,670 nurses in three different cities (Changchun. Guangzhou and Huhehot) were investigated by a self-designed questionnaire. The investigation results were coded and input the EXCEL to establish a database, using spss13.0 statistics software for data analysis, based on the property of data. I describe the data generally, and employ non-parameter test, analysis of gradual multivariate regression to deal with the questionnaire of multicultural nursing.Results1. From the score of different multicultural dimension which the nurses got. the cognitive of the religious culture is better, but the theory of communication and knowledge to master the situation is relatively weak.2. Nurses of the three cities have no differences on total cognitive, but there are some differences on four dimensions, the theory of knowledge, manners, diet and customs. The nurses'cognitive on theoretical knowledge and social ceremonial aspects of Guangzhou is better than other two cities. The cognitive of customs and taboos. Huhehot's nurses is better than the other two cities. And nurses of Changchun have better cognitive on eating habits.3. Different degrees of nurses have marked differences on customs and cultural dimensions(P<0.01); There is no statistical differences on multicultural nursing marks, knowledge theory communication, etiquette, religious and catering cultural(P>0.05).4. For paramedics with different positional title, there are remarkable statistical differences in aggregate score, language culture, ritual culture and catering culture cognition. The group of primary nurse has better cognition than nurse and nurse-in-charge.5. Parents' profession has a remarkable influence on nurses' multicultural nursing cognitive; the nurses whose parents are acquainted their cognitive level is higher than whose parents are farmers, workers or individual operators. 6. The nurses are significant difference with different times to study the whole cognitive, theoretical knowledge and religious belief. the cognitive of multi-cultural nursing of nurses who often read are better than the others.7. By a further logistic regression analysis,it is found that the major factors of nurse' multicultural nursing cognitive are reading time, monthly income, receiving multi-cultural nursing training or not.Conclusion:1. The nurses' total multicultural nursing cognitive level needs further improve.2. Nurses'cognition of multicultural nursing in three cities is closely related to city cultural background.3. Nursing staff of different degree. different age whose cognitive level has no difference.4. Reading habits, multicultural experience are related to multicultural nursing cognitive.5. Training level of nursing education is not enough clear.6. Muticultural nursing education is not popular, most nurses don't accept muticultural nursing education during their school time.7. Post-career education has not yet extensively developed.
