BackgroundThe benign paroxysmal position vertigo is one of most common periphery vestibule disease and is one of the most common vertigo disease Simultaneously, Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo may cause many blind examination wnhich spend a lot of medical expenses. It is difficult to diagnose, even can not get effective treatment. It causes much suffering for patients. Meanwhile, the attacks of vertigo limit the scope of life. Increased mental stress in patients reduced patient's life scope. So it is essential to people's health to the correct treatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. In the past few decades, positional maneuver of teatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is the primary means. Positional maneuver reach high short-term effect, but there are disadvantages such as easy to relapse. We' should concern of how to reduce manual reduction and improve long-term effects. It can improve the clinical efficacy and reduce relapse.ObjectiveObserves the Chinese medicine of different TCM syndrome types in patients with benign paroxysmal position vertigo patient after the positional maneuver, the establishment of Chinese medicine for different types of efficacy and recrruenscence and so on. To assess the efficacy of a particle repositioning maneuver called the "barbecue rotation" in the treatment of patients with HSC BPPV, including curing, amelioration, inefficacy and palindromia.MethodsIn this study,28 patients in ear-nose-throat Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital from January 2008 to January 2010 in line with the standard of the wards were divided into two groups.22 patients involve posterior canal,6 patients involve horizonial canal. The one group was treated with canalith respositioning procedure and TCM, The control group was treated with canalith respositioning procedure and their therapeutic effect was evaluated one day later and 10 days later.6 patients involvement horizonial canal was treated with a particle repositioning maneuver called the "barbecue rotation". Their therapeutic effect was evaluated one day later and 10 days later. After treatment, three months of review and evaluation.ResultsAmong the 28 cases,22 cases with the condition of BPPV cases caused by the lesion of posterior semicircular canal, and 6 patients involve horizonial canal. They were divided into treatment group and control group Their effective power one day later were 85.71% and 78.57% respectively. After Fisher exact test, the efficacy of the two groups was no significant difference. Ten days later, effective power of treatment group were 92.86% and reccurence was 7.14%. Effective power of control group were 71.43% and reccurence was 57.14%. After Fisher exact test, the efficacy of the two groups was no significant difference and the reccurence of the two groups was significant difference. Three months later, reccurence in treatment group was 14.29% and reccurence of control group was 85.71%. There is significant efficiency differences between the two groups.ConclusionThrough the positional maneuver combined with TCM treatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, it can reduce the relapse rate.
