Objective:To evaluate heart function of children with Kawasaki Disease(KD) using tissue doppler imaging(TDI) and comparing TDI with traditional 2D-echocardiography.Methods:Forty-five children with KD were included in the present study, who were divided into group A (with coronary aneurysm),group B (with light abnormol of coronary artery),and group C(with no abnormal of coronary artery).Thirty healthy age-matched children were controls(group D).The Left Ventricular End-systolic Dimension (LVDs),Left Ventricular End-diastolic Dimension (LVDd), Left Ventricular End-diastolic Volume (LVEDV),Left Ventricular End-systolic Volume (LVESV) , Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction(LVEF), and Left Ventricular shortening fraction(LVFS) were measured using M-echocardiography. And Left Ventricular blood velocity of early diastole( Ve) ,Left Ventricular blood velocity of late diastole( V a) were measured using two-dimensional echocardiography,calculating Ve/Va. TDI detects 18-part-myocard velocity of different phase , including Max-Velocity of isovolumic contraction period( VIVC),Max-Velocity of systolic phase tVs),Velocity of post- systolic phase( Vpss),Max-Velocity of early diastolic phase (tVe),Max-Velocity of late diastolic phase( tVa).The same action is to the health children's myocardium. Comparing those parameters with statistics significant difference.Result:(1) There are no statistics significant difference between three KD group of LVEDV,L VESV,L VDd,LVDs,LVEF,LVFS,Ve/Va and normal group,using traditional 2D-echocardiography .(2) In three KD group,the parameters,including VIVC,tVs,tVe,tVa,have steped down,comparing with normal group.The difference of tVa has statistics significant.The serious damage of coronary artery have correlation with the decrease of tVe.Conclusion:(1)There is normal imaging of KD children's heart function by traditional 2D-echocardiography,while declining have been seen by TDI in part-myocardial function , Specifically in diastolicfunction.(2)The degree of myocardial function has positive correlation with the serious damage of coronary artery.(3)TDI could discover the change of myocardial function of KD chileren more earlily.
