Background:Sjogren's syndrome is an agnogenic chronic systemic disease, which pulmonary pathologic manifestations usually involve in.It can be categorized as primary and secondary. Objectives:to investigate laboratory examinations, pulmonary function, chest radiographic and CT scan of the lung disease associated with primary Sjogren's syndrome.Material and methods:clinical data including laboratory examinations, pulmonary function, chest radiographic and CT scan of 79 patients with pulmonary pathologic manifestations of PSS were retrospectively reviewed from 2002 to 2008 in the 1st affiliated hospital of ZheJiang university. The follow-up lasted 3-72 months. Results: ESR was risen remarkably in 86.08%patients.There is a significant difference between ESR and CRP,or RF(P<0.05).Among the 62 patients underwent chest roentgenogram,38 patients were abnormal, with 20 presented linear and reticular opacities.By CT scan,73 of 79 patients were abnormal. In these patients,24 (32.88%)patients presented linear and reticular opacities,21(28.77%) patients presented hilar and mediastinal lymphadenopathy,14(19.18%) patients presented nodules and masses,13(17.81%) patients presented pleural abnormalities,12(16.44%) patients presented ground-glass attenuation and air-space consolidation,11(15.07%) patients presented bronchial wall thickening and bronchiectasis,11(15.07%) patients presented thin-walled lung cysts,6(8.22%)patients presented honeycombing,3(4.11%) patients presented mosaic perfusion,3(4.11%) patients presented artery enlargement. There is a significant difference between CT scan and chest radiograph(P<0.05).20 (80%) of 25 patients have pulmonary disfunction in pulmonary functional test. Conclusion:CT scan can provide characteristic manifestations of lung involvement which correlates with other data such as laboratory examinations, chest radiography, pulmonary function of lung involvement in PSS. |
