Objective: Evaluated efficacy and safety of Traditional Chinese Medicine used in the hyperlipidemia then filtrating advantageous therapeutic methods and commendatory herbs and formula. Methods: Collected clinical experiments in traditional Chinese medicine used in the hyperlipidemia, established a choice criterion, filtrated qualified researches, evaluating the quality of the qualified researches by using the Jadad standard of perfection, made tests for homogeneity, Meta-analysis, funnel plots analysis. Results: The meta-analysis results showed that: compared with statins, fibrates drug, there were no difference for the overall effective rate and the weighted mean difference of Lipid parameters, and were significant statistical significance on the occurrence of adverse reactions. Conclusion: Through the research, we made a conclusion that the Traditional Chinese Medicine can reduce TC, TG and LDL-C levels, and increase HDL-C levels of the patients with hyperlipidemia, and its role was similar with the statins, fibrates drugs. Moreover its incidence of adverse reactions decreased significantly compared with statins, fibrates drug. So Traditional Chinese Medicine is safe and effective lipid-lowering drugs.
