A Clinical Observation On Treating Simple Obesity By Catgut Implantation In Bo's Abdominal Acupuncture Points

[Objective]To observe the therapeutic effect of catgut implantation in Bo's abdominal points on simple obesity.[Method]51 patients with simple obesity were treated by catgut implantation in Bo's abdominal points per 2 weeks for 4 times,namely every patient received 4 treatments.Body weights(BW),waist circumferences(WC),hip circumferences (HC),body mass index(BMI) as well as distribution rate of body fat(F%) were assessed before and after the whole treatment.[Result]Within the 51 patients enrolled,48 cases accepted total treatment and assessment.After treatment,WC,HC,BMI and F%decreased with significance (p＜0.05,p＜0.01 respectively),and cases with mild or moderate obesity improved more than severeness.[Conclusion]Catgut implantation in Bo's abdominal points help improve the obese physical condition,particularly in those with mild or moderate obesity.
