Objective:To study the classification of pathology in the raised erosive gastritis(REG), the incidence of the disease profiles, clinical manifestations and traditional Chinese medicine type of syndrome in order to further explore the causes and pathogenesis of this disease, and guide the future of this disease in the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment. Methods:Collecting the patients who were obtained gastroscopy in Second People's Hospital of Fujian Province from January 1,2004 to December 31,2007 were 22,816 cases. Collecting raised erosive gastritis patients 1,343 cases, the patients who accepted pathological examination were 1,293 cases, and of which 260 cases accepted the questionnaire of TCM clinical symptomatology. At the same time 13,254 cases of chronic gastritis(CG) patients were collectedo In these patients,11,782 cases of chronic superficial gastritis(CSG) and 1,482 cases of chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG) patients were collected. The excel databases of patients' clinical information were made. All data was analyzed by a SPSS11.5 statistical software package with X~2 test and Ridit test.Results:1.Comparing the Helicobacter pylori(Hp)-positive rate of REG patients with the Hp-positive rate of CSG patients, there was no significant differernce(P>0.05).Comparing the Hp-positive rate of REG patients whose pathological diagnosis was superficial gastritis with the Hp-positive rate of CSG patients, there was no significant differernce(P>0.05).The Hp-positive rate of CAG patients was significantly higher than REG patients whose pathological diagnosis was atrophic gastritis(P<0.01).The Hp-positive rate of REG patients whose pathological diagnosis was superficial gastritis was significantly higher than REG patients whose pathological diagnosis was atrophic gastritis(P<0.01).The Hp-positive rate of CAG patients was significantly higher than CSG patients(P<0.01).2.The main associated diseases of REG were duodenal ulcer and Duodenitis. They respeclively were of the total number of cases of 11.09%and 9.83%,3.The pathological constituents of REG were superficial gastritis, atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia. They respectively accounted for 80.28%,1.39%,17.01% and 4.02%.The pathological constituents of chronic gastritis(CG) were superficial gastritis, atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia. They respectively accounted for 86.11%,1.63%,11.81%and 1.34%.The incidence rate of intestinal metaplasia in REG was significantly higher than the incidence rate of intestinal metaplasia in CG(P<0.01).And the incidence rate of dysplasia in REG was significantly higher than the incidence rate of dysplasia in CG(P<0.01).4.The TCM clinical symptoms syndrome of REG contained three types:sthenic zheng, asthenia zheng and asthenia-sthenia zheng complications.Among these types, the main type of sthenic zheng which was damp-heat of spleen-stomach zheng was of the total number of cases of 53.46%.The main type of asthenia zheng which was weakness of spleen-stomach zheng was of the total number of cases of 22.31%.The main type of asthenia-sthenia zheng complications which was weakness of spleen with damp-heat zheng was of the total number of cases of 12.31%.Conclusions:1.It was considered that Hp infection played a role in both REG and CG..2.Most of associated diseases of REG were duodenal ulcer and Duodenitis as acid-related diseases. It was considered that the formation of this disease was related to the increase of gastric acid secretion.3.It indicated that REG was more possibly prone to cancerization than chronic gastritis. This disease could be researched as a special type of gastritis in the future.4.The TCM clinical symptoms syndrome of raised erosive gastritis contained three types:sthenic zheng, asthenia zheng and asthenia-sthenia zheng complications. The main type of sthenic zheng was damp-heat of spleen-stomach zheng. The main type of asthenia zheng was weakness of spleen-stomach zheng. The main type of asthenia-sthenia zheng complications was weakness of spleen with damp-heat zheng. It indicated that the main TCM treatment of this disease was clearing heat, dissipating dampness, strengthening spleen and benefiting vital energy in the future.
