| Continuing Medical Education (CME) is a form of life-long education, it is the need of health personnel adapt to the rapid growth of modern medical knowledge, the need of training qualified high-level clinical manpower, the need of health personnel update their knowledge and improve their knowledge structure. It is also the fundamental strategic measures to stable the medical team and develop our medicine.In order to enhance the efficiency and quality of continuing medical education and design a canonical development mode, it is necessary to evaluate the development status and demand status of continuing medical education in Shandong Province. In this study, we used health administrative departments, medical and health units, continuing medical education personnel as our objects, mainly analysized the status of medical and health units and the using status of health staff in Shandong Province; continuing medical education quality and effect evaluation by health personnel and their demand analysis.In this study we found that: Shandong Province had basically achieved the "10th Five-Year" goal of continuing medical education. The whole province had formed an effective management of the continuing medical education system and measures, established an effective incentive and restraint mechanisms and carried out kinds of forms and contents continuing medical education activities. At the same time, we also found that: the developments of continuing medical education were uneven between levels of medical and health units, the participation in continuing medical education activities between health personnel were different; leaders at all levels and health technicians pay little attention on continuing medical education; In the aspect of content, continuing medical education content was still carried out in the basic theory and basic skills mainly, medical humanities and management-related knowledge were insufficient; in the aspect of form, the form of continuing medical education were not affluent, modern distance education and other modern forms were inadequate; the expenses payment mode, the conflict between work and study Jacking corresponding specialty are the three major factors which affecting technical personnel participating in health continuing medical education. These factors are the "stumbling block" of continuing medical education which will restrict the sustainable development of it.How to further standardize the development of the province of continuing medical education based on the existing foundation? We believe that the following aspects should be addressed: (1) It is necessary to improve policies and regulations and establish the evaluation and supervision mechanisms of continuing medical education; (2) We must raise awareness , strengthen guidance, and create a good development environment of continuing medical education; (3)We should satisfy different needs of health 1 personnel, establish a multi-level system of continuing medical education; (4) We must raise money from different kinds of channels to assure the sustained and healthy development of continuing medical education; (5) It is necessary to regulate the management, expand areas to co-ordinate the development of continuing medical education. |
