Objective: To describe the status about CRF in breast cancer patients after chemotherapy in Changsha. To understand the characteristics of coping, personality, anxiety, depression, social support, general Self-efficacy and mental state of these patients. The discussion breast cancer chemotherapy patient CRF correlation factor and the influence level, are intervention breast cancer CRF provide the theory basis, provides the reference for a better appraisal and the treatment.Methods: According to the cluster random sampling, 396 breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy from 4 hospitals in Changsha city were investigated by questionnaire. The content included general state, clinical data, Cancer Fatigue Scale(CFS), Jalowiec Coping Scale(JCS) , Self - rating Anxiety Scale(SAS), Self-rating Depressive Scale(SDS), General Self-efficacy Scale, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (SPQ), Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90) and Social Support Scale from July to November in 2007. The data were analyzed by software SPSS version 13.0. The statistical analyses included descriptive statistics, t test, Wilcoxon rank sum test, ANOVA, Pearson analysis, Spearman analysis and multiple stepwise regression analysis.Results: 1) 96.97% patients with breast cancer experienced fatigue to some degree after chemotherapy. The general fatigue in 74.75% patients was in the moderate level, scored 25.90±7.84. Physical fatigue, Affective fatigue , Cognitive fatigue total score respectively is 12.28±4.90, 7.06±2.90, 6.56±2.90. 2) After different years of schooling, different financial circumstance, complication, chemotherapy plan, the time intervalafter chemotherapy, anemia, personality, coping style, social support, general Self-efficacy ,depression, anxiety and mental health status were related to the general fatigue and four dimensions of fatigue(P<0.05). 3) Personality,coping style and mental health status were the major influential factors(P<0.05).Furthermore, personality contributed to the general fatigue and body fatigue mostly, and mental health status was the most important factor impacting sentiment fatigue and perception fatigue.Conclusion: Most breast cancer patients suffer from moderate fatigue after chemotherapy. The major influential factors are personality, coping style and mental health status. Therefore, we should pay more attention to the patients with severer CRF and help them carrying on correct coping style according to their personality and mental health status in order to decrease CRF. |
