In this study, we optimized the best extraction technique process of salvianolic acid in Salvia miltiorrhiza by orthogonal experimental design. The content of Danshensu protocatechualdehyde salvianolic acid B were determined through high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) method, and total salvianolic acid through ultraviolate spectrometry(UV) method. Studying the methodology of the two methods and it has been approved that the accuracy repeatability stability and recovery rate of the assay all accord with the relevant regulations. We also established the standard quality control of Salvia miltiorrhiza extract.Through chemical compositions study of this extract, we got components through column chromatography and identified the structures according to physical-chemical properties and spectrum data. They are Danshensu protocatechualdehyde salvianolic acid B Methyl tanshinonate Ethyl tanshinonate Isoferulic acid.Using salvianolic acid B as index ingredients first and through HPLC, we made quantitative determination in Shanxi Province and Sangluo area and established fingerprint graph for water-soluble constituents of radix salvia miltiorrhiza and set up quality standard.
