The development of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) offers great hope to infertility couples. However, the rate of success is still low. The increasing evidence shows that psychosocial factors may make effect on the outcome of IVF. In this study, to investigate the effect of women psychological stress on the outcome of IVF, the results of psychological test and the levels of the stress hormones as plasma adrenaline (A), noradrenaline (NA) and serum cortisol before and after IVF-ET were compared between in pregnant women and non-pregnant women. Meanwhile to explore the influence of psychosocial stress factors on oocyte maturity, the number of retrieved oocytes and merogenesis, the plasma levels of A and NA and the follicular fluid (FF) levels of NA, estrogen and androgen were examined in pregnant and non-pregnant women.Objective:1 In order to study the relationship between personality characteristics and psychological status and the outcome of IVF-ET, the results of psychological tests were compared between pregnant and non-pregnant women at different stages of treatment.2 In order to investigate the possible mechanism for the...
