Objective: Vascular dementia(VD)is the generic name of dementia which is the damage of cerebral vessels caused by a series of cerebral vessels' factors. Due to the apoplectic damage, it is the degenerative consequence after thoroughly developed the intelligence. It is the psychogenia disease with the common feature of unable direction, pretension error, and low calculation ability. VD is the dementia caused by apoplexy in TCM. TO study the relation of types, stages and scores of neuropsychology of VD and TCM syndromes.Methods: 92 cases of VD were chosen according to diagnosis criteria of VD and differentiation of TCM syndrome. Clinical dementia rating and scores of neuropsychology were performed to study the extent of damage. CT, MRI, TC, TG, HDL and LDL were observed.Results: 1.Kidney Deficiency with 56.52%, Phlegm obstruction with 53.26% and blood stasis with 34.78% was dominant in the VD;2.The incidence of Bi-syndrome making up 45.65% and tri-syndrome making up 36.96% is higher than other TCM syndromes.
