A Research About The Effectiveness Of Denture Cleanser On Discolored Bayer Artificial Teeth

Objective: To estimate the effectiveness of denture cleanser on removing discolorationof Bayer artificial teeth and the color stability of Bayer artificial teeth when they arestained and cleaned.Methods: Three groups of Bayer artificial central incisors(21 #) were separatelyimmersed in red wine,tea and coffee for four weeks, then removed their discolorationusing denture cleanser.Their L *, a *, b * were measured by shadeeye.ncc spectrocolorimeter when theyare intact, stained and cleaned to work out their color differences and the values werealso analyzed in statistical method.Results: Discoloration of three groups of teeth were no longer clinically acceptableafter they were stained, but when they were cleaned by denture cleanser, their colordifferences were dramatically decreased and acceptable.Conclusions: The color stability of Bayer artificial teeth are different aiming atdifferent dietary and denture cleanser show favorable effect on removing theirdiscoloration.
