Research And Implementation Of Digital Tooth Arrangement Optimization Technique For Full Denture

The digitalization for complete denture is an important research content in the field of prosthodontics.This paper studies the technology of digital tooth arrangement and optimization of full denture,and develops a software platform for virtual tooth discharge of full denture.The main content and achievement as follow:(1)The technology of database construction and dynamic retrieval matching based on multilevel artificial teeth is proposed.First of all,the three-dimensional data onto the edentulous and artificial teeth are scanned and obtained.Then,the features of the edentulous patients and artificial teeth are extracted.Finally,the multi-layer artificial tooth database is constructed,and the dynamic matching technology is carried out to realize the automatic selection of the artificial teeth.(2)A method of virtual teeth arrangement for complete denture based on constraint solving system is research.First,according to the anatomic characteristics of the edentulous patients,the arrangement line of teeth is fitted.Then,a virtual arrangement constraint solving system for artificial teeth is constructed under the constraints of arrangement lines and artificial teeth.The artificial teeth are arranged according to the medical rules,the clearance of the adjacent teeth is adjusted and the corresponding optimization scheme is putting forward.(3)The evaluation indexes of virtual teeth arrangement for complete denture are proposed.Combined with the three evaluations of dental technicians,dentists and patients in traditional way,we summarized the evaluation method and constructed a quantitative virtual evaluation index for virtual teeth arrangement.The results of teeth for complete denture were detected.And the data obtained from the test is the basis for judging the effect of arrangement.(4)The software of virtual tooth arrangement for complete denture based on medical rules is designed and developed.Taking VS 2008 and OpenGL graphics rendering library as the platform,the software developed has the functions of tooth selection,virtual tooth arrangement,the optimization of tooth arrangement and so on.The virtual tooth placement test was carried out by software,and compared with the results of traditional way,which verified the above research results.
