Domain Ontology is efficient in medical knowledge representation.On the basis of intensive investigation of large number of documents and web pages, the paper analyses the differences between a vocabulary, a taxonomy, a thesaurus, a meta-model, and an ontology, Introduces the origin, definition, type, role, description language and creating tools of ontology and some medical ontology, especially FMA ontology. The emphasis is laid on giving a particular analysis of the last development of ontology in the world by Bibliometrics. introducing the actual advance, application fields, major institutions and its related projects of ontology-, According to FMA, attempting to analyse some concepts and relations of Meridians, and created a light ontology about three meridians. At the end, attempt to make some semantic queries about the light ontology.Organizing information resource with ontology is a potential research of information integration. Attempts of this paper to applying ontology to integrative medicine information management, will serve as reference for methods research of information resources exploitation.
