Analysis And Solution To Reoperation Of Nodular Goiter

Nodular goiter is the familiar disease and endemic.Surgery is the mostimportant therapy,however,the question of reoperation is always pendent.How toavoid reoperating is that we should pay attention to.Object:To analyze and find the solution to reoperation of nodular goiter forreducing the rate of reoperation.Methods:Retrospective analysis was performed on 81 patients withreoperation of nodular goiter during the last five years.By analyzing the relation ofreoperation with the first method of surgery and the cause of reoperation,putforword the experience of reoperation and how to prevent from.Results: The average interval of reoperation of 81patients(7 men,74women,mean age 54.2 years) was 87.3 months.Significant differences of intervalwere observed between group of excision and subtotalthyroidectomy(P<0.05).The result of pathology included recurrence of nodulargoiter in 53 patients,recurrence of nodular goiter and hyperthyroid in 4patients,recurrence of nodular goiter and thyroid cancer in 17 patients, thyroiditisin 7 patients.The temporary recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy in 2 patients andtemporary hypoparathyroidism in 3 patients.Conclution:The cause of reoperation were:①the recurrence of nodular goiter;②the recurrence of nodular goiter and hyperthyroid;③the recurrence of nodulargoiter with thyroid cancer;④recurrence of nodular goiter and thyroid cancer;⑤...
