Treatment Methods Of Infantile Body Surface Proliferative Hemangiomas

Objective: To discuss the method selection on treatment of infantile body surface proliferative hemangioma. Methods: From october 2002 to january 2005,195 patients with body surface infantile proliferative hemangiomas were treated with CO₂ laser in 115 cases,triamcinolone acetonide injection in 35 cases,CO₂ laser and triamcinolone acetonide injection in 33 cases, plastic surgery operation in 12 cases respectively.The series consisted of 139 females and 56 males,ranging in age from 15 days to 2 years. Results: Followed up 6 months to 2 years,73 cases with CO₂ laser were cured(63.48%),18 cases(15.65%) had good response;12 cases with triamcinolone acetonide injection were cured(34.29%),8 cases(22.86%) had good response;27 cases with CO₂ laser and triamcinolone acetonide injection were cured(81.82%),3 cases(9.09%) had good response.The total effective rate of three groups were 79.13%,57.14% and 90.91% respectively.While in the plastic surgery operation group,the cure rate was 8 cases (66.67%),3 cases(25%) had good response. Compared with each other there were a significant differences between the combined treatment group and the triamcinolone acetonide injection group,There were also a significant difference between the CO₂ laser treatment group and the triamcinolone acetonide injection group.The average therapeutic time of combined treatment group was 45 days,the average therapeutic time of CO₂ laser treatment group and triamcinolone acetonide injection group were 90 days and 150 days respectively. Conclusion: 1 Treatments with CO2 laser,triamcinolone acetonide injection,CO2 laser and triamcinolone acetonide injection or plastic surgery operation were all effective to infantile body surface proliferative hemangiomas.2 The combined treatment of CO2 laser with triamcinolone acetonide injection for infantile skin proliferative hemangioma had better therapeutic effects and less side effects.3 The proper treatment method should be selected according to different stage, different site and different size of infantile proliferative hemangioma to improve the therapeutic effectiveness.
