Development And Utilization Of Information Resources For New Drug R&D

The drug imitation has played main role in R&D in China for a long time. Compared with the major pharmaceutical companies in Europe and the United States, the level of R&D for innovative drugs in China is lower. So developing independent drug R&D system and speeding the transfer to innovative strategy has become the primary mission of pharmaceutical in China. The development and utilization of information resource play crucial role in providing support for the new drug R&D.This study survey the information consciousness and capability in the utilization of information, and the suggestions and opinions of researchers on the information resources construction in North China Pharmaceutical Group Corporation and the Academy of Military Medical Science. It also compares and analyses the condition of development and utilization of drug R&D information at home and abroad using the information research methods, such as literature retrieve, comparison and analysis, synthesis and so on. The result suggests that China has made some progress in the field of new drug R&D information development and utilization, but there is still much insufficiency and shortcoming compared with foreign countries, especially in the aspect of information construction. The weakness in the information type, coverage and scope, management pattern, information quality, utilization ratio and the consumer service exist. According to the research and the questionnaire, the thesis also elaborates strategies for information construction in the future. To meet the information demanding of the researchers, all kinds of information resources related to the new drug R&D are collected, classified, analysed, evaluated, and eventually integrated into a guide tool of utilizing the drug R&D information resource.
