Investigation And Utilization Of Foreign Medical Funding Information Resources On The Internet

The scientific funding system which dates back to more than a century ago in some foreign countries has greatly propelled their technological advances. However, it emerged in China only two decades ago. Although National Natural Science Foundationa of China has continuously increased its funds, compared with the developed countries there is still a long way to go. The contradiction between the supply and demand of funds appears to be severe, especailly in the field of medical research. Therefore, it seems very important to acquire the foreign medical funding information resources so as to make it possible for the scientific institutes and researchers to apply for the foreign fundings and to participate in the funding programme.In this thesis, foreign medical funding information resources on the Internet are investigated as the main object and the network information management theory is used to analyze its classification, layout, models of management, utilization value; Using the experience of utilization of funding information in foreign coutries, the method of comparison analysis is used to investigate the acquired medical funding information thoroughly, differences of scientific funding mechanism between China and foreign countries are found out, suggestions are made on the tactics for application for foreign fundings, measures for the improvement of Chinese funding management; finally, foreign medical fundings are sifted to find out the funding programmes suitable for Chinese researchers, and modern information techniques are also used to establish a retrieval platform which can strongly support the acquirement and utilization of the foreign medical funding information resources.
