Experimental Study On The Antiobese Effect Of Kudingcha Total Terpene

Ilex Kudingcha C.J. Tseng is a Chinese herbal medicine ordinarily used in the south of China. Generally, its folia are used as medicine. It has the functions of reducing weight,clearing away heat and toxic materials, promoting the production of liquid and blood circulation, relieving thirst, refreshing oneself and strengthening the brain. In this article, the antiobese effect and its action mechanism of Kudingcha Total Terpene (KDC-TT) had been studied . The experimental research indicated that KDC-TT(147,210,300mg·kg-1) reduced the body's weight, the weight of its epididymidis fat pad, lee's index, and fat index of alimentary obesity rat apparently, but had no effect on it's body length. It reduced the maximum diameter and minimum diameter of the adipose cell in size. The phenomena of mutual coalescence among the adipose cells was inspected. It reduced lipid droplet in the adipose cell. While KDC-TT (300,430,614mg·kg-1) had no effect on the mice ingestion, small intestine movements, and endurance activities. KDC-TT (0.350,0.425,0.550,0.675,0.850mg·ml-1) increased the release free fatty acid of adipose tissue in vitro. It increased the releasing of free fatty acid (FFA) of adipose tissues obviously. The regression equation between the concentration of FFA (y) and concentration of KDC-TT(x) was y = 0.0427x+0.0907 ( r= 0.9682 , P＝0.00676) . From the research results above, we can draw the conclusions. KDC-TT can reduce the body's weight, the weight of its epididymidis fat pad, lee's index, and fat index of alimentary obesity rat apparently, but no effect on it's body length. It can reduce the maximum diameter and minimum diameter of the adipose cell in size, had no effect on the mice ingestion, small intestine movements, and endurance activities, increased the release of free fatty acid (FFA) of adipose tissue in vitro. It increased the releasing of FFA of adipose tissues obviously.
