| Objective : To investigate the effects of Dahuang alcoholate on plasma free fatty acid(FFA)and insulin sensitivity, blood lipid and blood glucose of Strepotozotocin and diet-induced diabetic rats. Methods: The model of rats with obesity and DM was formed with injection of streptozotocin and fed on high calorie diet to study the effects of Dahuang alcoholate on plasma free fatty acid (FFA), insulin sensitivity , blood lipid as well as blood glucose . Diabetic obese rats were randomly divided into Dahuang alcoholate big dosage (DHAB) group, Dahuang alcoholate small dosage (DMAS) group treatment by Dahuang alcoholate. Western medicine (WM) group treated by Metformin and model control group, and there was also a nomal control group. The levels of plasma free fatty acid (FFA), insulin sensitivity , blood lipid and blood glucose of the animals were checked after 5 weeks. Results: (1) The level of blood lipid, Fasting serum glucose,serum insulin, weight in diabetic obese rats as compared with nomal control group were significantly increased(P<0. 05-0. 001)after 13 weeks, while the insulin sensitivity was significantly decrease (P<0.01). (2)Fasting serum glucose, serum insulin, FFA, weight, intake of food and water were significantly decreased(P<0. 05-0. 001)in Dahuang alcoholate-treated diabetic obese rats as compared with untreated diabetic obese rats, while the insulin sensitivity was significantly increased(P<0. 01) . Conclusion: Dahuang alcoholate therapy increased insulin sensitivity, decreased blood lipid and plasma free fatty acid(FFA). |
