Objective:To study therapeutical effect of QiLeng decoction (composed of mongolian milkvetch root, snakegourd root, mulberry, common burreed rhizome, etc) which is capable of benefiting vital energy(BVE), nourishing yi(NY), activating blood circulation on focal cerebral(ABC) ischemia reperfusion injury to rats. The results were compared with that of the group of BVEABC to verify that BVENYABC has a better therapeutic effect than BVEABC for ischemia reperfusion injury.Methods:Using a suture-occluded method to induce the model of focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury was made. Rats were randomly divided into four groups (pseudo-operation controlled group, ischemia reperfusion group, group of BVENYABC and group of BVEABC).Administration 2 hours after the middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) model was made. Bid.Neurological grade were evaluated. TTC stain were used to determinate the volum of cerebral infarction. HE stain was used to observe histopathological changes of brain tissue. Transmission electron miscroscope were used to observe ultrastructure changes of neuron.Results:The neurological grades of pseudo-operation controlled group were normal. Each rat of pseudo-operation controlled group had no infarction.There was statistic significance among pseudo-operation controlled group, ischemia reperfusion group, group of BVENYABC and group of BVEABC in evaluation of neurography grade(P<0.05). The effect of BVENYABC is superior to that of other group.Compared with group of BVENYABC, group of BVEABC, the the volum of cerebral infarction decreased (P<0.05), histopathological changes of brain tissue andultrastructure changes of neuron ameliorated.Conclusion:Contrasting with group of BVENYABC, group of BVEABC, there were the low evaluation of neurography grade, decrease of the volum of cerebral infarction , amelioration of liistopathological changes of brain tissue and ultrastructure changes of neur. The results showed that in the BVENYABC treatment of focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury to rats, the effect was obvious. The effect of group of BVENYABC was better than that group of BVEABC.
