Cerebral Effects' Resarch Of Benefiting Vital Energy And Activating Blood Circulation On Acute Phase Of Patients With Ischemic Stroke

ObjectiveTo verify the cerebral effects of Benefiting Vital Energy and Activating Blood Circulation on acute stage of patients with Ischemic Stroke(IS) through method of animal experiment and clinical curative effect and discuss the cerebral agents of TCM. Astragalus Injection and Breviscapine Injection are carrier of Benefiting Vital Energy and Activating Blood Circulation.2. Method2.1 Clinical curative effect research: Randomized control clinical trial of "Benefiting Vital Energy and Activating Blood Circulation" on patients with 24 cases of acute phase of IS. 14 patients were divided randomly into Treatment Group (Administered with common therapy adding Astragalus Injection and Breviscapine Injection) and 10 patients were divided randomly into Control Group (Administered with common therapy). Period of treatment was 72 hours. To measure the serum Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Neuron-specific enolase (NSE), White Blood Cells (WBC), Neutrophil(NE%), Fibrinogen (FIB), Syndrome Integral of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) in the two groups.2.2 Animal experiment research: Use the suture method of focal cerebral isehemia model in rats to research the question for discussion. There were 42 Sprague-Dawley male rats in the animal experiment research. 30 rats were randomly choosen to be focal cerebral isehemia models which were divide into two groups which are Treatment Group (Administered with Astragalus Injection and Breviscapine Injection)and Control Group (Administered with 0.9% N.S.).And 8 rats were naught-foeal cerebral isehemia models(Administered with 0.9% N.S.). And 4 dead rats were got rid off. Period of treatment was 48 hours. To measure the nerval function grade, cerebral wet weight, cerebral dry weight, cerebral rate of containing water or moisture and weight of cerebral infarct in the three groups.3. Result3.1 Clinical curative effect: The value of NSE, WBC, NE%, FIB, Syndrome Integral of TCM, NIHSS in two groups were higher than referenced value before treatment while there was no diffrence between two groups (P＞0.05). After 72 hours' therapy, the value of NSE, WBC, NE%, FIB, Syndrome Integral of TCM and NIHSS decreased remarkably in two groups. Treatment Group was superior to Control Group, which had significant difference (P＜0.05) between the two groups.3.2 Animal experiment: After 48 hours' therapy, the value of nerval function grade of Treatment Group was improved which had significant difference (P＜0.05) than forestall and Control Group. But cerebral wet weight, cerebral dry weight, cerebral rate of containing water or moisture and weight of cerebral infarct in the three groups were compared to show no diffrence between them (P＞0.05).4. Conclusion4.1 There were increased in different degree of Treatment Group and Control Group in NSE, WBC, NE%, FIB, Syndrome Integral of TCM, NIHSS. The extension of increase of related indexes maybe relate to degree of the inflammatory reaction and cerebral lesion. The indexes had changed after therapying, which indicated the Inflammatory Reaction and cerebral lesion alleviated and the therapy produced cerebral effects. There were decreased in different degree of Treatment Group and Control Group in NSE, WBC, NE%,FIB, Syndrome Integrl of TCM and NIHSS after therapy of Benefiting Vital Energy and Activating Blood Circulation. The probable mechanism can be deduced from the clinical results. The therapy decreased the expression of WBC, attenuated neutrophil adhesion and infiltration into lesion tissue. The therapy decreased FIB to improve cerebral blood flow and alleviate brain edema, It also decreased release of NSE. It improved the neural function, decreased Syndrome Integral of TCM and NIHSS. The results demonstrated it was certain that cerebral effects of "Benefiting vital energy and activating blood circulation" on acute phase of patients with IS through the Inflammatory Reaction. 4.2 After 48 hours' therapy, the value of nerval function grade of Treatment Group was improved than forestall which cue that The results demonstrated it was certain that cerebral effects of "Benefiting vital energy and activating blood circulation" on acute phase of patients with IS through the Inflammatory Reaction.
