Clinical Study On Treatment Of Functional Dyspepsia Treated By Modified Modified Sanxiang Decoction

[objective]To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Jiaweisanxiang Decoction on treatment of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency type of functional dyspepsia and to explore the mechanism of Jiaweisanxiang Decoction in the treatment of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency type by combining theory with clinical trials.[methods]According to the standard of Rome III diagnosis of functional gastrointestinal disease,"Chinese medical consensus indigestion (2009) ", "diagnostics of Chinese medicine" and the "state administration of traditional Chinese medicine TCM syndrome diagnostic efficacy of the standard",74 cases of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency syndrome were randomized into 2 groups. Jiaweisanxiang Decoction was given two times daily for 4 weeks in the treatment group.5mg mosapride was given three times daily for 4 weeks as control. Changes on symptom score between pre-therapy and post-treatment or new occurring events were included as outcomes. Evaluate the long term results by following up after 3 months later from the end of treatment.[results]Results showed that Jiaweisanxiang Decoction seemed to be more effective in improving symptoms of abdominal distension,belching and nausea than that in control(P<0.05). There was no significant differences between the 2 groups in improving symptoms of early satiety, upper abdominal pain,epigastric burning sensation and postprandial fullness discomfort(P>0.05). No side effects were found in 2 groups. Compared to the control group, recurrence rate was lower in the treatment group in 3 months of follow-up(P<0.05).[conclusion]Jiaweisanxiang Decoction was safe and effective in the treatment ofliver stagnation and spleen deficiency type of functional dyspepsia,especially in improving the symptoms of abdominal distension, belching and nausea. Jiaweisanxiang Decoction isworthy of clinical application.
